Ellen Explains

The Writer’s Guild of America released a statement on Friday, criticizing the talk show queen for crossing the picket line.

In response to the WGA, DeGeneres’ publicist released the following statement to PerezHilton.com:
“Ellen has not done anything in violation of the Writer’s Guild of America agreement, or the WGA’s internal ‘Strike Rules.’

Her shows production company made another statement.

"We have asked Ellen to come back to work to fulfill her contractual Obligation, as host of the show, because without original programs the stations can move the show out of its time periods or ultimately hold the company in breach of contract. The company, in turn, expects Ellen not to breach her contract to host the show. We also wish to preserve the 135 jobs of the staff and the crew whose livelihoods depend on the show continuing. We regret the Writer’s Guild has chosen to strike and we wish for a quick resolution."

Angelina's Long-Lost Cousin & Holiday Plans

Angelina talked to Good Morning America about her Holiday traditions.

Thanksgiving in the Jolie-Pitt household is a multicultural affair. "We celebrate Moon Festival for my boys, who are from Asia, and Kwanzaa and things like that," Jolie said. "We certainly try to celebrate as many of those as we can, and celebrate all culture."

Asked if she will invite Hillary Clinton, her newly discovered long-lost distant cousin, Jolie joked, "There was a rumor that Brad and Obama are related."

Talking about her new film Beowulf, in which she plays Grendel's mother – a character who is evil but whom Jolie found oddly inspiring. "I liked that she was a mother who would do anything and destroy anything if somebody hurt her son," she said. "It was the maternal side of me [that connected to her], and I love that that was her motivation."

New York Times is reporting that Rosie just might come back to TV.

Rosie might get a prime-time show on the cable news channel MSNBC.

Under one scenario, Ms. O’Donnell would be given the 9 p.m. slot each weeknight on MSNBC, where she would go head-to-head with two heavyweights of cable talk: “Larry King Live” on CNN and “Hannity & Colmes” on Fox News.

Cable would be perfect for her she can speak her mind and people won't be as sensitive about it. Bring back ROSIE!

Eliza Dushku Returns To TV!

AfterEllen.com is reporting that Joss Whedon has a new show for Fox starring Eliza Dushku!

The new show, called Dollhouse, stars Eliza (the artist formerly known as Faith the Vampire Slayer), who also serves as a producer. The show already has a seven-episode commitment from Fox.

"Echo (Eliza Dushku) [is] a young woman who is literally everybody’s fantasy. She is one of a group of men and women who can be imprinted with personality packages, including memories, skills, language—even muscle memory—for different assignments. The assignments can be romantic, adventurous, outlandish, uplifting, sexual and/or very illegal.

When not imprinted with a personality package, Echo and the others are basically mind-wiped, living like children in a futuristic dorm/lab dubbed the Dollhouse, with no memory of their assignments—or of much else. The show revolves around the childlike Echo’s burgeoning self-awareness, and her desire to know who she was before, a desire that begins to seep into her various imprinted personalities and puts her in danger both in the field and in the closely monitored confines of the Dollhouse.”

I don't know what to think about that plot but if Joss Whedon wrote it it is going to be good. Also a plus it looks like Eliza will have to do a lot of running and costume changes. Talk about good times!!

Madonna's New Movie!

Madonnatribe is reporting that Madonna will be premiering her new movie, I Am Because We Are, at the Sundance Film Festival this January.

The documentary was directed by Madonna and shows how AIDS has effected the lives of Malawi’s children, since many many of them lost their parents due to the disease and have to live on the streets and also highlights the work that Madonna’s organization, Raising Malawi, has been doing in the country.

Malawi is the African country where Madonna adopted her son David.

They say with great loss comes a sense of appreciation, I found this to be true growing up. When I moved here to Hollywood California four years ago with prosperity in my pocket, I briefly lost that sense of awe and appreciation for everyday life…excess became, what seemed at the time, my only remedy… Yeah, it took me a lot of falls to wake up, breathe, and appreciate again. I recall in my first interview, the reporter asked me: “Is there anything else you want to say to people about yourself that I haven’t covered”, and I said: “Yeah, Leave room for mistakes, I’m Human.” Those words have resonated with me more than ever in the last four years. I believe everyone has a peak evolutionary level to grow from, individual and distinct to their own experiences in life. Personally for me, I don’t know if it was the loss of material objects; my house, my cars, my bank account, the notoriety in my career, or the almost two years of not doing what I love because my peers deemed me ‘too irresponsible to work with’… I do know one thing, I have evolved since then. I may not be a good time keeper and I may have punctuality issues and many other positive traits I’m tardy in acquiring, yet I have to say above all, I have gained a good moral grounding, I take responsibility for my actions, and I’m far from being an ill willed, ignorant, or a sneaky human in any way. The hardships and growing pains that I have lived do not complete the equation of who I am. I am incredibly grateful that no one was harmed but me in this long process of awakening as I am deeply sorry to all my family, friends, coworkers and fans that have been let down by my slow growth process.



At this point I can only plea at the mercy of this court and the people, that the repercussions of my past actions do not affect the work, livelihood, and sustenance I provide for myself and my family dependent. I have reached the end of my rope with regards to my career. It has taken me two years to slow down and pay attention. My peers have begun to take notice of this change and have called me back to a position in society as a working class citizen. I only ask knowing I have been given many chances to follow the structure and guidelines provided, and I am well aware of my actions and their possible repercussions. My plea to this court and the people is merely that my debts to society do not interfere with my livelihood or that of my family dependent.”

But Swoopes believes they don’t come out publicly because they don’t think they’ll be supported by the league. But her message to the black gay community is this: "Don’t be afraid." For so many years, Swoopes said she and Scott put the happiness of those around them - friends, family, teammates - before their own. "And we went to bed miserable, woke up miserable and [I] lived my everyday life just miserable because I was doing what everybody else wanted me to do."

CBS reality show The Amazing Race starts its new season with a pair of Episcopal Church lesbian ministers. Kate Lewis and Pat Hendrickson from California will compete in the around the world race.

I gotta say they are pretty cute and I hope they kick some serious ass. Maybe even makeout a little....please. But not too much fighting, your ministers, you have a reputation to build.

The petition has started. Free Michelle Rodriguez petition started by some crazed fans and surprise they already have 1200 signatures. I love the title A Plea for Leniency like she is Nelson Mandela or something.

You know I like her a lot too (even if she is in the closet) but you do the crime you do the time. Sadly, she should have just done the community service. At least they gave her time to finish her current movie and still get to spend christmas with her family. I'm sure other inmates won't get the same consideration.
